Coming in 2027!
Project Background
Since July 2025, a committee has been working to bring an inclusive playground to Hidden Diamonds Park in Albion. The community shared overwhelming support through encouraging comments and tons of social media shares. Since then, the committee has continued working diligently and, in December 2025, the Albion Town Council gave their consent to begin fundraising to make this project a reality. Furthermore, Albion's Redevelopment Commission (RDC) committed $250,000 toward the project.
Groundbreaking
An official Groundbreaking ceremony was held at Hidden Diamonds Park on September 24, 2026, attended by park staff, project committee members, elected and appointed officials, donors, and community members. Project renderings shared the vision and anticipated results of the years long development of Diamond Discovery Zone.
Sustaining DDZ
The Diamond Discovery Zone committee is continuing to encourage and accept donations to help sustain ongoing maintenance and improvements. If you would like to learn more or entertain a visit from committee member(s), please email Casey Myers at albionparkdept@frontier.com or call (260) 564-1976.
The project committee has partnered with the Community Foundation of Noble County to manage funds for the purpose of development of the inclusive playground.
